BURLEY, IDAHO - MaryAnn Nevarez, age 67, of Burley, Idaho, passed away on December 28, 2023. She was born on November 1, 1956, in Lubbock, Texas, to Lorance and Monserrate C. Rodriguez. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her father Lorance Rodriguez of Texas, her mother Monserate Rodriguez of Cayay Puerto Rico, brothers Lorance Jr. Rodriguez of Nevada, Martin Rodriguez of Burley, Idaho, and David Rodriguez of Houston, Texas.

MaryAnn was a loving and dedicated wife to her spouse Jesse Nevarez. They met in 1985 while she was working as a cocktail waitress at the Yacht Club in Burley. Jesse walked in and requested a drink from MaryAnn. Jesse decided to ask MaryAnn out for a dance at which time she refused. In the end MaryAnn said not only yes but "I Do" not knowing that their relationship would last for 37 wonderful years. MaryAnn and Jesse raised four boys together and created countless cherished memories with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

MaryAnn was a hardworking and caring individual. She worked at Simplot in Heyburn, Idaho, until its closure. She then became certified in CNA and briefly worked in that field. MaryAnn's strong work ethic led her to open her own small daycare for a period of time. She had a lifelong connection to hard work, having grown up working in the fields alongside her family.

In her free time, MaryAnn loved the outdoors and was always planning ahead for family camping trips. She enjoyed fishing and riding UTVs, finding solace and joy in nature. MaryAnn's home was a gathering place for family and friends, where she kept everyone together and made sure they were all taken care of.

MaryAnn is survived by her loving husband, Jesse Nevarez, and their sons Adam (Amanda) Vega, Gilbert Vega, Andy Vega, and Jose (Minerva) Vega, all of Burley. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Munoz of Heyburn and Julia Pena of Burley, her brothers Leroy Rodriguez, Orlando Rodriguez, and Rafael Rodriguez of Burley, and Santos (Carmen) Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada. MaryAnn will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held 6 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 8th, 2024 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, at the Grace Christian Church in Rupert. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley, Idaho.
